Nigerian industrialist and President/CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has held discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on strengthening economic ties and expanding investment opportunities between Canada and Africa.
The meeting focused on opportunities to deepen two-way trade and investment, with discussions also touching on Canada’s strategy toward Africa.
The engagement is expected to support strategic partnerships in industrial development, innovation and sustainable economic growth.
The meeting comes as Dangote pursues his Vision 2030 growth strategy, which includes an ambition for the Dangote Group to reach $100 billion in annual revenue by 2030.
Beyond Dangote’s business expansion, the meeting highlights growing interest in stronger commercial relations between Canada and African economies. Greater cooperation could create opportunities in investment, industrialization, energy, innovation and trade.
Although no specific investment figure or formal agreement was publicly disclosed from the meeting, the discussions signal an interest in building stronger long-term economic partnerships between Canada and Africa.
The meeting reinforces Dangote’s push to position Nigerian and African businesses for a larger role in global investment and trade as the Vision 2030 agenda gathers momentum.
