Iconic Africa, through Iconic Times Africa and Iconic International Holdings (Pty) Ltd, has paid tribute to veteran Nigerian actor Chief Olu Jacobs, celebrating his decades of contribution to African cinema and the growth of Nollywood.
Describing Jacobs as one of the defining figures of African storytelling, the organisation highlighted his remarkable journey from international theatre to becoming one of the most respected personalities in Nigeria’s film industry.
Over the decades, Olu Jacobs has distinguished himself through memorable portrayals of kings, fathers, traditional leaders and other commanding characters, earning admiration from audiences across generations.
Founder and President of Iconic International Holdings, Amb. Dr. Temisan O. Louis, described Jacobs as a symbol of African dignity and wisdom whose contribution helped strengthen the global recognition of African cinema.
Other members of the organisation’s leadership, including CEO Michelle Tinotenda Chavundura, Global Vice President Amb. Appiah Nyesha Musavengana, Executive Director Malaika Lobengula and Chief Operating Officer Amb. Festus Osangbuwa, also acknowledged his professionalism, resilience and influence on generations of African creatives.
Iconic Africa said the veteran actor’s impact extends beyond entertainment, noting that his work has helped shape the identity and international visibility of modern African film.
The organisation concluded its tribute by thanking Chief Olu Jacobs for sharing his extraordinary talent with Africa and the world.
