The successful conclusion of the Iconic Africa Women Achievers Awards & Summit 2026 has strengthened the conversation around female leadership, inclusion and sustainable development in Africa.

DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA — September 25, 2026 — The successful conclusion of the Iconic Africa Women Achievers Awards & Summit 2026 in Dar es Salaam has strengthened the call for greater recognition and inclusion of women in Africa's development journey.

The event, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on September 19, brought together women leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives and influential personalities for a day of dialogue followed by an evening awards gala.

Convened by Iconic International Holdings (Pty) Limited, the summit was built around the theme, “The Africa We Want: Women Inclusiveness in Rapid Sustainable Development.”

A Platform for Dialogue

The theme provided the framework for discussions on women's participation in corporate leadership, politics, social development and the broader African economy.

The programme featured keynote addresses, panel sessions and strategic conversations focused on identifying practical ways to strengthen women's participation across different sectors.

The awards ceremony later placed the spotlight on women whose professional activities and leadership have contributed to their communities and industries.

Celebrating Excellence

A major highlight was the recognition of Valentina Utoh, Founder and CEO of Onyx by Valentina, as “Iconic African Woman of the Year in Business Leadership / Social Impact 2026.”

The event also brought together honourees from different professional backgrounds, including business, media, fashion, entertainment, tourism, healthcare, law, entrepreneurship, philanthropy and social development.

African Culture and Identity

Beyond the formal programme, the summit provided an opportunity for participants to build relationships, share experiences and celebrate African identity.

The presence of traditional African fashion alongside contemporary evening wear added a strong cultural dimension to the occasion.

Amb. Dr. Temisan O. Louis, Founder and President of Iconic International Holdings (Pty) Limited, attended the event in traditional native attire, reflecting the organisers' emphasis on African cultural identity and pride.

Looking Ahead

As the 2026 summit concluded, the event left a wider message about the importance of recognising female leadership and creating opportunities for women to participate meaningfully in Africa's development.

The event brought together women from different sectors and countries, creating opportunities for networking, collaboration and the exchange of ideas.

The organisers' vision centred on an inclusive and rapidly developing continent where women are able to contribute fully to economic, corporate, political and social advancement.
