BANJUL — President Adama Barrow has declared a national energy crisis directive aimed at accelerating the integration of solar power into The Gambia's electricity system.
The directive also seeks to speed up emergency interconnectivity agreements with neighbouring members of the West African Power Pool.
The measures are intended to address the country's energy challenges by expanding renewable power integration and strengthening connections with regional electricity networks.
The initiative places solar energy and regional electricity cooperation at the centre of The Gambia's response to its current energy situation.
