CAIRO, EGYPT — Telecom Egypt has reportedly completed a high-capacity subsea fibre-optic connection linking Sharm El-Sheikh and Taba, marking another development in Egypt's digital infrastructure.
The new connection is expected to strengthen telecommunications capacity and support regional digital data transit.
Egypt occupies an important geographic position between Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe, making its telecommunications infrastructure strategically significant for international data flows.
Additional fibre capacity can help improve network resilience and support the increasing demand for cloud services, digital businesses and online communications.
The connection is expected to contribute to Egypt's broader ambition of strengthening its position as a regional digital connectivity hub.
